About Kristen Ibsen

I had the privilege of being a UX Design Researcher for a year right out of college. For those who don't know (which I didn't when I started) UX Designers essentially are the people behind all our websites and apps making them super easy to use and navigate. My job as a researcher was to sit with people from all walks of life for 2-3 hours at a time and hear about their experiences interacting with various interfaces. From customer service pages to unexpected pregnancy resource center websites, it was an honor that so many people trusted me to champion such emotional and intimate stories as "data" to create beautiful designs! 

 

A very big dining table full of mouthwatering food, rich wine, and warm hearts in every seat. Even if we all live in the same location, every home has its own microculture - dinner can be such a special space to share, learn, and cherish each other. Sat at a table, friends, family, and strangers from all walks of life get to come into communion - nothing is more beautiful and reminiscent of home!

 

Apparently, not everyone names each of their houseplants... 

 

Ah, a trick question - I am very biased to say Aix-en-Provence is the most special city in the world. Nestled in the south of France just above Marseille, those seeking relief would travel across the country just to visit the "City of a Thousand Fountains" and drink the healing waters. Studying and living in Aix for 4 months was indescribable... let's just say I ate an absurd amount of bread and cheese. Et oui, je parle français! 

 

My faith lies in gracious, unceasing Love and I hope to live in such a way that nurtures love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. I feel extremely lucky to have a career that compliments this ethos and allows me to serve the amazing Marin community along the way!
