Slowly but surely, just as the California poppies are poppin' all over the place, the spring market is finally showing signs of life. While the number of new listings continues to be low (a struggle for buyers, but encouraging if you're a seller prepping for the market), the quality of inventory seems to have kicked into classic springtime mode.
Homes are showing beautifully right now, the sun is shining, and more buyers are making it out to see open houses, resulting in competitive situations on the most desirable homes (see the interesting chart below regarding the number of homes that are closing for over asking price). Luckily, the severe competition we were seeing last spring seems to be a thing of the past, and we hope it stays that way.
