A Note from Gianna…
When I first met Roxanne Albin five years ago, she dreamed of a small piece of land where her horse Nugget could roam freely. That vision has grown into Roxy’s Ranch Haven — a Petaluma sanctuary now home to more than 80 animals and a place of healing for people seeking connection, comfort, and compassion.
Roxanne’s journey is one of resilience, courage, and deep love — for animals and for the people who find peace alongside them. What began as a simple dream has become a thriving refuge for dogs, horses, pigs, chickens, and more, each with a story of survival. Watching her vision come to life has been nothing short of inspiring.
Who inspired you?
My grandmother. She sent me to farm camp when I was six, and that’s where my love for animals began. Her strength and generosity continue to guide me every day.
What setbacks did you overcome?
Funding was a constant challenge, especially early on. Rescue work is emotionally and physically demanding, but every obstacle pushed me to grow stronger and keep improving.
What did you learn about yourself?
That I’m more resilient than I ever imagined — and that asking for help matters. This place was built with love, faith, and community.
Your favorite moments?
Seeing people connect with the animals — especially those grieving or in recovery — and watching rescued dogs heal, trust again, and find forever homes. Those moments are pure magic.
Where do you feel most at home?
Right here on the ranch, surrounded by the animals. This is my sanctuary.
What’s next?
Strengthening infrastructure, expanding support, and hopefully growing onto more land to help even more animals and people.
Why this path?
Because animals deserve second chances. When we rescue them, they rescue us right back.
Roxy’s Ranch Haven is proof of what happens when compassion meets perseverance — and how healing flows both ways.
