Summer Concert Series Returns to the Gardens in Ross

Marin's outdoor concert season is still going strong this month. The Marin Art and Garden Center's Summer Concert Series continues its run of Thursday evenings in Ross, bringing live music, food, and community gatherings to the gardens through the end of August.

According to the Marin Art and Garden Center, this year's lineup spans an eclectic mix of styles, including salsa, Hawaiian, blues, Americana, zydeco, African dance, classical, folk, and rock, performed across the Gazebo Lawn and Redwood Amphitheater. The series is presented by Bank of America and has become one of the more reliably charming ways to spend a summer evening in Central Marin.

What to Expect on the Lawn

The next concert takes place on Thursday, August 20, with gates opening at 4:30 pm and music starting at 5:30 pm in the Redwood Amphitheater. That evening's performer is Michelle Lambert, playing acoustic pop and folk from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

Guests are welcome to bring a picnic, or pick up barbecue entrees and sides from Ray's Catering, grilled fresh on site. Beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks are also available throughout the evening. A refillable water bottle, a blanket, and low-backed lawn chairs are all worth packing, though folding chairs will be provided for anyone who forgets.

A practical note for anyone planning a visit: the August 20 concert is the second-to-last of the season. The series wraps up on Thursday, August 27, with a Teen Rock Showcase, also in the Redwood Amphitheater.

For buyers considering Ross and the surrounding Central Marin towns, evenings like this are a good reminder of why the area holds such steady appeal. The Marin Art and Garden Center sits right in the heart of Ross, and a summer calendar full of concerts, garden strolls, and community events is part of what makes day-to-day life here feel unhurried.
