Looking for something the whole family will actually enjoy? Mark your calendar for the second annual Marin Dance Festival, happening Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Angelico Concert Hall on the Dominican University of California campus in San Rafael. According to insideoutballet.org, the afternoon brings world-class dance to Marin — no bridge crossing required.
Doors open at 2:45 PM for a 3:00 PM curtain, and the program runs about ninety minutes. Nine artists move through eight distinct styles on one stage, making it an easy, welcoming introduction to professional dance for all ages.
What to Expect at the Festival:
Contemporary dance and contemporary ballet from Bay Area artists
Kathak, the North Indian classical form, and bellydance
Latin rhythms, jazz, hip-hop, and classical ballet
A 90-minute program designed for the whole family
Free parking on campus, with tickets from $25 to $55
Festival founder Casey Lee Thorne is a San Rafael–based choreographer and educator who launched the Marin Dance Festival in 2025 with a simple goal: bring professional dance home to Marin. Several performers will look familiar to local families, including the directors of Marin Ballet in San Rafael, Roco Dance in Mill Valley, and Love2Dance in Novato.
